I used Dawn dish soap on one of my shirts and let it set for a bit before throwing into the wash and the stain came out.

I also use other dish washing soap in my loads of wash each week and if there were spills I didn't know about they were took care of. Also, the dish soap with a bleach alternative does lighten the colors in some clothes, so be careful.

Try Lestoil. Petroleum products remove petroleum stains. Goo Gone might also work. Lestoil, before washing, removes grass stains, ground in dirt, blood stains, you name it! I have 3 boys (all grown😕) and almost always was able to get out stains. Sometimes a scrub brush is necessary.

Get vanish platinum powder and put a big scoop in the machine drum. Before washing treat the stain manually with vanish squeeze gel and leave for a couple of mins then wash with the scoop in the dum. Much cheaper trick to try first rub fairy liquid on the stain leave for 30 mins then wash 🙂

I don’t know what kind of oil but try putting a towel on both sides of the shirt and iron it. Sometimes that works. If not try a fabric store, they have some stain removers for different things. Especially helps if you know what the stain is from.

I saw this, didn't believe it, but it worked! Spray spot with WD-40. Cover with preferred spot remover such as shout. Put in washing machine and wash as you normally do. (don't let it set, wash right then.)
