How to wash my clothes in cold water without leaving residue?

My washing machine is leaving a white residue on my dark clothes when I wash them in cold water. I cleaned the machine, I got different detergent, used less and still the same. Any suggestions? Thank you

If you machine is a top load then use the low fill setting with hot water to dissolve the soap. Let it start to run so the paddles )or swirling) mixes/dissolves the soap.
Then fill the machine with cold until it starts to run and add your clothing. This should solve it. 😊
clean your washer with a 1/4 cup of laundry pine sol & run it through a wash cycle
Use a low suds detergent and vinegar in the rinse cup instead of fabric softener.
are you using softener? It just doesn't disslove in cold water use dryer sheets if you really need the fabric softener
Powdered soap can be dissolved with water/hot water. Liquefy it prior to adding it to the washer.
