The main thing to do is to keep the carpet wet until you can get a carpet cleaner out to clean the carpet, but if it has dried then you will have a much harder time removing the paint. I had the same situation happen at my house with green paint on white carpet. We kept it wet and the cleaner came out the next day and removed every bit of the paint.

I did keep it wet and Stanley Steamer Cleaners came out next morning. This is it after the cleaning and less $100 dollars!

You can splice in a piece but removing the stained area the cut has to be perfectly square or rectangular. Then is you have extra carpet cut the new piece using the old piece as a tamplate. If you don't have extra take a piece from a carpeted closet.

If it is water based paint, hand sanitizer will get it out. Peroxide will bleach the carpet.

Hi Toni, try using Woolite. I had tenants spill dark brown paint on my off white berber rug. My painter had to come & fix the mess they made on the wall. (yes, they left in the middle of the night) He used Woolite & water. I was amazed. There were two areas, one very big 12x18ish and the other about 6x10. The paint was already dry as well. Good luck.

I have used Listerine (the original one) and successfully removed paint from the carpet. Good luck.

Folex @ Home Depot will remove. But cold water & Dawn dish detergent will probably also. Just wet carpet.

If you keep it wet, the padding underneath will mold . Let it dry. Just don't apply heat to it . It's not like putting clothing in the dryer .
