My DH wears sleeveless undershirts and no matter what we try they always turn a dingy gray. How can we keep them white or make them white, again?
When I had well water, I used Calgon water softener in all my whites and light colors. Especially if I was bleaching the whites. It was amazing! No more dingy clothes!

I also have well water and I have found that a heaping tablespoon of baking soda works wonderfully. Does not damage your cottons like bleach and makes your whites really white. I use it in every load, colors come out brighter..............even jeans. It may take a few washing but it will work it's magic.
I buy "Iron Out" at Lowe's, works wonders and doesn't damage like bleach, just don't use it on color clothes as it takes the color out.
I also use Calgon or Rain Drops and pre soak with Oxiclean. Oxiclean also comes in a laundry detergent. They can be used on whites and colored clothes.
