What is the best way to get finger nail polish out of carpet?

The kids spilled finger nail polish in their bedroom and we have tried almost everything to get it up....except finger nail polish remover because we are afraid it will discolor the carpet. Any ideas?

I used denatured alcohol and it worked without removing the color from the carpet. Soaked a rag and just kept rubbing, it was almost a whole bottle of red (of course). Good luck

I would try hair spray first wetting the area well, leave on long enough to lift the stain.

I have light beige bedroom carpet. One day after polishing my toenails I started to put things away. The lid was not on the dark wine colored polish and I spilled it everywhere. I grabbed the nail polish remover and got paper towels and rubbed trying to get it up Now I had a spot as large as a big platter. Panicked I went to Google and asked what to do. Everyone said to use Windex. Windex window cleaner. I doubted it would work but tried it. I sprayed it well and blotted with white paper towels. Did that a few times and the carpet looked like new. This was a new stain so I cannot say how it will work on an older one. It worked beautifully for me. Good luck!

My granddaughter spilled red nail polish on light beige carpet and someone told my daughter to try shaving cream. It sounds weird but it worked! You'd never know there was nail polish on the carpet at all!
