Your washing machine most likely has a buildup inside.Run white vinegar through a cycle.

Agree with Janet's comment above that the source of the problem is likely that the washing machine needs a good thorough cleaning. Clean out the filter if it has one, and clean around all the rubber trim areas with diluted bleach. If possible leave the lid open during the night to avoid build up of stale smell.

Also, it could be that the clothes are sitting in the washing machine too long before you take them out to dry them. If they are being air dried, then maybe they are not getting enough moving air circulating through the fibres while hanging to dry. If they are being machine dried, then they are sitting partially dry/partially wet in the dryer too long before you re-start the cycle again to fully dry them.

clean your washing machine. They have products in the laundry aisle. Also put a cup of vinegar inthe rinse water. You could also try using baking soda in the first wash cycle

Sounds like your machine needs to be cleaned. I know one can buy cleaners for this. You might try some vinegar and just use a wash with it.

Put vinegar in the machine and run a cycle with just the vinegar. This should do the trick.

After you clean the washing machine and re-wash your clothes, try hanging them outside in the sunshine. Makes them smell wonderful!

Add a cup of vinegar or baking soda to the wash cycle. and then hang them outside to get a fresh outdoors scent. You can also try using Pine Sol in the wash--- it may be a little strong for a while, but should completely get rid of the moldy smell. You can also try to freeze the clothes for a couple of days to kill the mold and then wash. It can't hurt to try this!

Could be that your washer has a mildew buildup. Do a hot soak and wash with vinegar. If that doesn't work, there are tablets in the laundry section that help clean and deodorize the washer. When your washer isn't in use, leave the door open, especially if you have a front loading machine.
