Time-Saving Laundry Tips

The 2 Seasons

No matter how often we do laundry, we know that in just a day or two, it will be time to do it again. It isn't the most pleasant housekeeping task, but it isn't the worst, either. We have been doing laundry for a lot of years and have some great tips to make the job easier, faster, and more enjoyable.
Probably the most important tip we can give you is to make sure your washer and dryer are working at their top performance level. A washing machine repair man once told me to run a cycle using distilled vinegar at least once a month. It cuts down on the gunk that can build up inside that we can't even see. He added that homeowners who do this simple task will have less maintenance issues. It's also important to empty the lint from the lint catcher after each use and to keep the dryer hose clear.
Our laundry room is on the same floor as our bedrooms, so we take our dirty clothes directly to the laundry room when we take them off each day. I have color-coded four baskets so that the clothes can be tossed into them and immediately are sorted. I painted one basket handle white for whites, blue for pastels, black for darks, and pink for delicates. This has saved us a lot of time.
I have a small table in the laundry room. I use it when I am folding clothes. It makes more sense to me to do this task in the laundry room and not in another part of the house. The table also comes in handy when I need a place to put freshly ironed clothing. We have a lot more useful tips and invite you to visit our blog to learn about them - http://the2seasons.com/2017/02/15/time-saving-laundry-tips/

This is not a question. I just wanted to tell you that you can easily get chocolate and even tar out of clothing without having to soak first. All you have to do is cover the stain even set in stains with a layer of GOOP hand cleaner, rub it in, let sit for about 10 min. then throw in with your regular wash. So easy, no greasy stain left behind and no horrible smell once washed and dried. I once took tar out of my husband brand new blue jeans that he forgot he had on and wore all day putting shingles on our roof. They were more black then blue and I could have bit a nail into when I saw them. I wasn't sure if even my trusty GOOP could handle that big of a job but I had to try. I covered that entire pair of jeans in a fairly thick layer of GOOP (by the way it has to be that brand) then dropped those jeans in side an empty plastic 5 gallon bucket and let them sit a day or two then threw them in the washing machine and I couldn't believe my eyes when I pulled them out. There was not one speck of tar left on those jeans and once out of the dryer they looked brand new again. Hubby was out of the dog house. LOL I haven't had any stain so far that GOOP wouldn't take out so please give it a try for yourself the next time you have a chocolate stain and see for yourself.

I can tell you how to easily get chocolate and yes even tar out of clothing! This will even take out chocolate that has been set in your clothes after you have washed and dried your clothing. The secret is always have a container of GOOP hand cleaner on hand. It has to be GOOP brand! All you do is smear GOOP on your stain, rub the cloth between your hands a minute then let sit on the stain for about 10 minutes and toss in your washing machine with your other clothes and wash as usual. Once washed the stain will be completely gone. That's it! My husband once worn a brand new pair of jeans when putting shingles on our roof and you can imagine how those jeans looked at the end of the day. They were so covered in tar residue that they looked more black then blue. I took my trusty GOOP not really thinking it would make those jeans look brand new again but worth giving it a try. I literally smeared GOOP generously all over those jeans and once covered I plopped then down inside a 5 gallon plastic bucket and let them sit for a day before throwing them in the washer. I was amazed once I took them out of the washer. There wasn't even a speck of black left on those jeans so hubby was out of the doghouse this time. LOL My point being there is nothing so far that I've found that GOOP won't take out of clothing and there is no greasy stains left behind on your clothing and no smell once they come out of the dryer. Don't believe me give it a try on a small stain and see for yourself.
