    Hi Denise,

This is Linda. I would start with baking soda and water made into a paste and rubbed into the area. Let it sit so that it has time to work. I'd then spray it with vinegar water (50% each) with a few drops of Dawn. Let that work, then rinse. If that didn't work, I'd get out my WD-40. I use that on a lot of stains. Rub it in with a soft cloth or a sponge. If it's really bad you might have to scrub it. If some of it comes off from either method, I'd repeat that method to see if the rest would come off. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.

      Hi Denise,

I got to thinking about your question and I'm wondering if a lot of it might be caused by waxing the floors. Years ago when kitchen floor wax was a big hit, I used to it on my kitchen floors. I was young and a new "housewife" who thought I had to have shiny floors. The problem was that every 6 months or so, I had to strip it because it turned the floor yellow plus if there was even one piece of dust on the floor when it was applied it would show. Believe me, it wasn't fun. Anyway, I hated to do it but I used ammonia and detergent plus a lot of scrubbing to remove the wax build-up. While baking soda and vinegar are my cleaning choices today, you might have a wax buildup. Here's a wikihow article about how to strip the wax from floors. That might what you need to do.

I use Dawn. Use a strong solution and let it sit for a bit before rinsing. I've had to do this before when moving into a rental. Do yourself a favor and pull the appliances out from the wall. Much easier to clean that way.

Try testing a small are with Grease Lightening. It works great to cut grease and grime. However make sure it doesn’t damage your floor so test a small area that is not noticeable first and rinse it well.
