Buy a jug of hempseed oil and mix with lemon essential oil or whatever scent you prefer. Buff into the floor. The scent won't last more than a day or two, but the floor will look great.
It's also very important to use a barely damp cloth when washing your hardwood floors because too much water can damage your floors too. Here are the simple ingredients: ... 1 gallon of warm water. 2-3 drops essential oils (I love lemon or lemon and clove for my hardwood floors)

Oil? I think if you have hardwood you need to know how they were finished first. Personally, I would just look for an all pupose SAFE cleaner and call it good. Mom had hardwood and used OrangeGlo as it worked well for her floors.

Most essential oils will damage wood finish. I have seen them damage both painted and sealed wood surfaces when spilled. Use a scented product intended for wood. Good luck and stay safe!
