Hello there. Cindy here. You could put a clean towel over the glue and press it with your iron. The glue should get warm enough to scrape it up. Best wishes and good luck.

Heating up glue is going to make the glue stickier and wetter. It will not be easier to 'scrape' off. Genuine Gorilla brand glue though is supposed to be resistant to both heat and cold.

If plush or shag, trim a few ends. If Berber, get a throw rug!

  • Yeah, Gorilla glue is a urethane base and once it's set, it's set so if you can, clip the strands and hopefully it'll be not noticeable.

You can get solutions that remove the glue. Go to a hobby shop and ask if they have it. We use it to unglue fingers and everything of superglue. Ask for a superglue or CA debonder. Test it in an inconspicuous place to make sure it won't change the color or texture of the carpet before you use it to remove the gorilla glue. The CA glue we use is stronger than gorilla glue and it removes it easily.

I don't know if this will work, but the 1st thing I would try is Goo Gone. It got hardened, ground in, dry gum out of a shag carpet for me. Hope it helps!

Actually my solution is in your kitchen cupboard. Just spray some cooking spray, or inexpensive bug spray on and leave for about 5 minutes then gently blot off with a warm cloth. if needed wash with a small amount of soap to soak up leftover spray.
