You will probably need to sand down and refinish the section that is dark.
Is it dark because the area,around it has faded. Was it under something you moved.
Hi Alison. My name is Cindy. Try making a paste with olive and salt. Spread it on the dark spot. Let it set at least one hour. Then wipe it up. If it's really bad, you may have to repeat. Hope this helps. Good luck from Cindy.
