Dickinson, I don't think you can. The yellow cast is the color turning from age. This happened to my white kitchen cabinets and they had to be replaced. If you got 20 years out of your vinyl floor, you are very lucky! Most vinyl floors don't last half that long. My advice is to replace it. You can go over the existing vinyl with a "floating" floor like Pergo. Or tear it up if you replace it with new vinyl.
That yellowing is usually the glue that gradually rises through the vinyl material. If you want them to look better despite the aging, use a floor steamer. It is one of the best things for getting the dingy marks out of the texture in vinyl. Go slowly with the steamer and do it a couple of times
My 20-yr old textured white vinyl floor is still reasonably white! I mop with a hot 50/50 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide with just a few drops of dishsoap (not enough to make it sudsy or require rinsing). For stubborn spots or areas I spray full strength peroxide on the spot, let sit a couple of minutes, scrub with a brush and then continue. I have also used the steamer, but only plain water in the steamer and spray peroxide directly in sections on the floor. You might consider using a scrub brush dipped in peroxide mix following the steamer (which seems to loosen dirt and buildup) for the first couple of times and you certainly could use stronger than 50/50 mix water and peroxide for a couple of times, just be sure to rinse well with water as a last step. Once you get the worst off, it will be quick and easy to keep clean. Hope this helps.
Sometimes the yellowing is from one of those one-step, make your vinyl floor shiny products (don't want to name names). If this is the case, you can strip this wax-like buildup with ammonia. Just follow the direction on the bottle - may take a few tries. I did this in an old mobile home and actually got rid of a scorch mark from a dropped pan.
