How do you remove wax from acid stain concrete floor?

My floor is an acid stained concrete. I need to remove the old wax so I can put new sealer and wax on. How do I remove the old stuff? I'm not going to rent a scrubber but don't mind getting on my hands and knees with a brush.

    1. Mix 1/2 to 1 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of laundry detergent with 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket.
    2. Dip a mop into the solution and mop the floor thoroughly to saturate it. ...
    3. Scrub the floor in a circular motion to remove the wax, using a stiff scrub brush or ultra-fine steel wool pad

We used to use ammonia and detergent to get up old wax off a floor to strip it and rewax. Hope this helps Ruthie,
