How to clean wood and ceramic tile floors?

I want to clean my wood floors and ceramic tile floors without leaving a film. I want them to shine and not look dull. Any ideas?

I use half vinegar and half warm water to clean hard wood. But, I do it on hands and knees working in 3 x 3 ft sections. After washing, I dry with old towels. We had a cleaning lady for a while. She asked for a special mop. The mop is from Walmart (about $10). It is O'Cedar brand with a red handle. It has blue and white strings attached to a twisting device. After the second time she mopped, my floors were so much whiter and brighter. She said it didn't matter what was in the bucket. The magic was in the mop.
