How can l restore the color to basement tiles?

I used everything on my basement tiles, that I thought was mildew, even bleach, pine sol vinegar etc., and nothing worked. I am beginning to think that is a discolorzation from those black mats that I had on the floor. Is there a product out there that restores the color back to tiled floors?

Try using Krud Kutter, Barkeepers Friend, Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner. Nothing will restore color but clean them
I agree with William. Try cleaning a section of what sounds like a stain. Were they rubber of some type on the back? One product he didn't mention that I would try, is Goo Gone. I've had some luck with this type of stain if it's residue from the mat. I would also use a magic eraser. Working in a small area will give you a better idea if the rest is worth treating the same way. If it is a type of residue, this may help lift it. You didn't say what type of tiles they are (ceramic, concrete, vinyl, etc. ) but this method is safe for any type. You will need to clean the area thoroughly after using the Goof Off since it may leave an oily type film on the floor where you use it. It comes off easily with a little hot soapy water on a sponge (try Dawn dish detergent). Good luck!
Hi ! Have you tried magic eraser ? You can try soaking a day with a combo of hot water , white vinegar and a few drops of dawn dishwashing , then cover a small area where it is stained , let it sit there for 20-30 minutes . Then use a plastic pot scraper or plastic spatula to try and scrape the black off . Good luck !!!

Yes, the black mats has chemically permeated the vinyl tiles.
If you have a commercial grade VCT, you can mechanically sand down a 1/32”, as it is through-bodied.
If not, then considering prepping and buying Porch or Decking Paint.
You can always paint the tiles with the right kind of paint if nothing else works.

You don't say whether the tiles are ceramic or vinyl. If vinyl, the colour you are seeing could be the under colour before the print of the final colour and coating.
It has just worn away.
Solution, just cover it up with the mat or another mat again, or try to colour match it with paint, or New floor? Don't worry, It could only be you tha knows about it!
If floor is concrete, Then use Garage floor paint to refresh.......
If you know who made the mats, contact them for suggestions. Be careful with vinegar if the tiles are grouted as it can dissolve the grout.
