What to use to clean laminate floors that look like wood?
We just moved into a house that has floors that look just like old oak lumber. From what I can find on the internet, I believe they are laminate. Can someone please tell me what to use to clean them? Is there anything I can use to put a little shine on them? or would that be defeated the purpose of the old wood look?

What can I use to clean textured laminate floors?
how can I clean the grooves in the laminate that's embedded with dirt. A mop does not work.
I use a microfiber duster, the kind you can throw the pad in the washer & comb to get clean between washing. Spritz with water.
For mopping, I use 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 tbsp blue dawn, 2 gallons hot water.
Hands down Bona products.

I switched to an O Cedar Pro Mist mop with washable heads. I have one mop and four washable heads to always be ready for any cleaning needs. And yes Bona adds a nice sheen. My floors see a lot of action and I clean the kitchen every night before bed.

Bona is amazing
Sweep, mop with vinegar and water (in a spray bottle) and then take a terry cloth towel and put it on your mop and dry the floor. It will look shiny and clean.
I use a shark steam cleaner and love it!
I would check on the manufactures website and see what they recommend so you donāt accidentally ruin them
Hello Betty,
You could use Flash Mop and Cleaning Sheets, or Wet Wipes as I do!
Laminate floor manufacturers recommend not getting them very wet. I sweep mine and use a damp microfiber mop. A cup of vinegar to a gallon of water will be fine for cleaning, just don't let water lay on the floor. I actually go over mine again with a dry microfiber mop to soak up the excess moisture.
I vacuum mine and clean with Bona once every 6 weeks. They are 8 years old and look brand new. Sometimes I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle. I use a swiffer with a washcloth attached. Secret to cleaning laminate is not to get it too wet. do not use any Holland House products on laminate you will ruin your floor.
