How do I remove stickers from antique furniture?

How do I removed those crazy little stickers from an antique dresser/chest without damaging the finish?

    I use WD40 to remove stickers. Spray it on, let it soak, then peel off.

    I remember seeing in a show using mayonnaise on the stickers. Let them soak for an hour or so, and the remove them. They used it to remove them from wooden furniture surface.

    Any product that has an oily substance will work. Mayo.oil,peanut butter,coconut oil.etc...

    I use GooGone on the pieces that I get with stickers on them and a scraper blade at the end.

    Thank to all the replies. I will try mayo on them. My mom sanded, stained neutral coat, finished and now that she has past I really want these instead of her mahogany set.

    Try a hair dryer first. Put it on the hottest setting, hold about a quarter inch away, and keep it there for about 30 seconds. It melts the adhesive and allows you to pull the sticker right off. I use this method on all sorts of labels and stickers.

    On wood, use an old credit card for a scraper, so you don't gouge the wood. If you can get the outer layer of the sticker off, your oily substance can soak in better. Coconut oil is actually supposed to be good for wood, anyway!

    Olive oil will work well, if it's been on for a very long time you might see some discoloration.
