How can I remove old messages from my steamed up bathroom mirror?

I have used Windex, alcohol, polish remover, and Mr Clean magic erasers (wet and and dry) and, the old messages show up again in the condensation.!They are not our messages!

Something was used that leached into the glass. You might think about using an etching compound and stenciling designs to cover the writing. Those people must have hoped their love would last forever!!

use straight dish washing liquid. it will keep mirror from steaming up
yup, I have tried dish soap, dawn in fact, on a damp cloth, it helps rid of foggy mirrors in bathroom.
