How do I safely get paint of of a stained cabinet?

I have used "Oops" and scrub carefully. If it takes the shine off, use what ever furniture polish you use.

What kind of paint is it? You might be able to lightly scrape it off if it hasn't sunk into the wood. If you have extra matching stain then you might try nail polish remover to get the paint off then you may have to touch-up the stain. Do a test in an inconspicuous place on the cabinet first as you don't want to damage it more.
