Glass table tops

Vivian Smith
by Vivian Smith
I have 4 glass table tops and I've tried everything to clean them. After a few hours they look cloudy. I have tried, vinegar, alcohol. Warm water and dawn dish detergent. I have noticed little scratches here and there. I am thinking about covering them with something except table cloth. Any suggestions or ideas?

I use windshield washer fluid on my glass table tops. They come out great. For the scratches, I don't think there is much you can do. Unless you know someone that does "glass etching" and blend them into a design? Good luck.

I was having trouble getting the clear glass doors on my shower clean and someone on here suggested to use a Magic Eraser. It worked wonderfully!

When I clean glass I use plain dawn dish soap and clean it with a window squeegee and then I use foam glass cleaner, non ammonia. Vinegar I wouldn't use. You don't have hard water on them.

depending on how big they are, try cleaner for eye glasses - that works well oh and I read that automotive rubbing compound works well also and on the shower glass - no more spots..........hubby picking it up today for me! Hope one works - let us know.

If none of the cleaning suggestions work, perhaps they are just too worn? Glass etching might be your savior. I love that stuff. Use black electrical tape to mask off areas you don't want etched. Practice on your glass trash from the recycle bin to perfect your technique.

I have used wet dryer sheets (i.e. Bounce) on my shower doors and had a Property Manager how I got the glass so clean!

Try WD40 spray on glass, glass must be laying down, let sit for a couple minutes. Wipe of with paper towels, wash with dawn and water, then a vinegar wash. Repeat of reverse side of glass, if there is no improvement try a second time, if they do not improve they are not useable. Then take one glass to a glass store and they will cut to size new ones for you. Good Luck.

Try CLR gel in the black bottle, found mine at 98 cent store. My handyman used on water stained windows think he used just rag and maybe a plastic scrubber (try in small area first to be sure it will not scratch.). do outside and wear gloves, rinse well with water.

If you can't clean them get you some glass paint and some stencils and paint the glass to match your decor. I bet you it would look great

Since toothpaste helps with clouded headlights on cars, I tried it on my shower door.I have only done a small space, but it seems to work. I used a toothbrush to apply....need a larger brush!

Believe it or not try tap water and dry them with newspaper. I make fish tanks of all designs sizes and shapes and that is what I use for the finial polish.
