What is easiest way to get the paint stripper out of molding?

Hi Angie, you can soak steel wool in turpentine and rub it over the trim to neutralize the paint stripper. Go gently and follow the grain and trim. It may take a few tries before it's gone.

If it's Citristrip, try soapy water and an old toothbrush.

A small brass brush dipped in the stripper would work. Brass will not damage the wood. Stripper on the brush will activate the stripper on the molding. Then just wipe off with a paper towel or cloth.

Apply Citristrip and cover it with plastic wrap to keep moist and soften the stripper already there. Scrub off with a toothbrush with the grain of the wood.

To get it out of the grooves, you will need to do it before it dries. Use a stiff brush that is small, like a grout brush, to get into the grooves. You might have to take a toothpick to get it out if it has already dried.

You may need to use a sander that has a point to get in tight corners

I would try a stiff brush. You could also try the brush attachment on a small rotary tool if you need more "power".

Citristrip with a toothbrush will work wonders. Dollar store has some nice stiff onces.

I use 0000 steel wool, and the soft brass brushes about the size of a toothbrush. I get them at True Value Hardware store, and even Dollar Tree has a set of 3.

I’d use a brush for this, dipped in the stripper. You could try a grout cleaning brush for this. Just make sure you’re wearing eye protection and gloves.

Just make use of a small stiff brush similar to grout brush and use it to get into the grooves. Or if it Citristrip maks use of a soapy water and an old toothbrush.
