What is the best method to remove nicotine odor from wood furniture?

Previous owners are smokers and the smell is noticeable in the dresser I bought.

  • Wipe out the interior with a cloth drenched in vinegar. Then place charcoal in each drawer and check periodically till the odor is gone. 1 - 2 weeks.

    Inside try swabbing with vinegar shut the drawers for several hours then air out.

    cat litter in drawers to absorb smells or use a good wood cleaner on cabinet tops and sides.

    Unfortunately, sometimes, depending on how long the wood (or fabric) has been exposed to this carcinogenic smoke, it is too imbedded to remove entirely. Hopefully some of the solutions above will work for you, but there is still this realistic possibility, so don't get your hopes up too high.
