Good furniture stores sell leather creme that is specially formulated to not darken the leather. You can also order it on-line. Good luck.

1 part woolite 9 parts water, soft bristle brush like those used for shoe shining and lots of rags.

Most saddle soap (used for horse tack) will not darken leather. Leather Therapy is a good one. Leather, however, will darken with age.
For scratches over the years I used shoe polish to match and buffed.
I have tried commercial cleaners but haven't been happy with the results. I read somewhere to use olive oil and if you want some kind of scent, you can add an essential oil. I've tried it and it does a great job without darkening the leather.
I used to have a burgundy leather sectional. I used the Cordova cans for mens shoes and wiped it on the scratches, let it dry and buffed it off. It never got on our clothes. I would test the black first. They sure look good for a few months after doing it.
