Take the claw end of a hammer and scratch back and forth with it. Not pleasant but does work for me,

Once you have it removed OdoBan Pet odor and stain remover. Its a excellent product to use for pet mishaps.

Pour some hydrogen peroxide on the stain and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Then rinse well You may want to use the claw hammer to remove the clumps, then use the hydrogen peroxide. The HP "eats" organic matter, but will destroy the carpet if left in place too long. I use this to remove all pet stains when one of my babies "forgets" or can't get outside.

@Barbara Votik, Thanks for the info about HP. I wouldn't have thought to try it.

DON'T wet it until you have moved most of it. I used an old fork. I can see how the claw end of a hammer would work. Vacuum up all the little bits. For stains, I used a mixture of two parts hydrogen peroxide to one part baking soda. Just spoon it on, don't rub it in. after it dries vacuum it up. I only tried this in light colored carpet. Don't know what the peroxide would do to dark colors. Good luck.
