  • Use a black light first to find exactly where the kitty sprayed, It will glow green. Then purchase a product that is sold in most pet stores called Nature's Miracle. This sprayed on the offended area will kill the bacteria that not only makes it glow green but the smell as well.

@Val Melton Odoban is pretty good, but it's not a deterent. With Odoban I find that it's better is you clean the spray first with a typical cleaner. When it's dry, then us the Odoban.
  • White vinegar and baking soda, if it´s on a carpet soak with white vinegar and then apply the baking soda on top, be generous with the backing soda, let is sit till the vinegar dries up and vacuum.
  • if you want to go commercial, Urine Off is the best i´ve found, you can find it on pet stores or supermarkets
  • Baking soda is probably the best homemade odor remover. You can add baking soda to laundry in the washing machine to clean and remove odors. Try putting baking soda down a garbage disposal to clean and deodorize along with some lemon rinds. Spreading a thin layer of baking soda in the litter box for cats before adding cat litter will reduce odors. You could also make a spray of a little soap, hot water and baking soda to spray away odors.

Thank you all for responding so quickly! I tried urine gone, didn't work. I'll make a paste of baking soda. it literally peals the paint off the walls, not to mention the smell! Giving away to good homes...4 cats! lol
  • If after everything else fails, the urine has soaked into the wall to far to simply clean away. If you use an Ozone machine, and run it, that will kill the enzymes in urine and remove the odor. But you need a high dose of Ozone in order for it to work.

My MIL had a cat spray down the windshield of her car, nothing worked except new coffee grounds. A used car dealer told her they use coffee grounds to rid cars of odors from spilled milk, melted butter and yes, dead bodies.

The very best deodorizer I have found is one that Citrus Magic makes....Pet odor eliminator. While taking care of my bedbound mother, I even used it in the laundering of her gowns as well as spotting other areas. Works far better than the Nature's Miracle and a whole lot less work! Simply spray it and you are done. It even comes in a gallon size for those persistent critters or caring for someone incontinent. It's amazing. And not expensive. Just do a search on "Citrus Magic" and you will find it.
