Dirty blinds- any suggestions?

We have multiple sets of faux wooden blinds on our windows, and they haven’t been really thoroughly cleaned for a good while. Rather than cleaning them slat-by-slat, I thought taking them down and cleaning them might be an easier and faster way to do it. Does anyone have suggestions for the best way? Thank you!

Do you have a canister vacuum? I clothes my blinds, and open the vent in the host so it's not pulling too much suction, and with the brush attachment I vacuum mine. It gets the worst off really fast and then you can decide if you need to do more.

Vacuum as much off as you can using a brush attachment... close one way, vacuum, close the other way, vacuum... use spray cleaner the same way if needed... if they are really dirty... take them down and soak in the bathtub with a good basic cleaner like Simple Green, rinse and hang to dry (clothesline or on a pole between 2 ladders)

Yes, I called a blind solar company. I have 11 large windows and he came out removed them. 24hrs later he brought them back and they were like new Again. He said to clean them every two years. This was 8 mos ago still look great. I paid him $600. And it has been well worth it. Try it.
