    Vacuum really well. A rug cleaner (electric) which sucks the water out may bring them up a lot. Let dry. Vacuum again. Borrow or rent one. You may have to do it more than once. I have used spray on cleaner with a scrub brush on the spots first - then followed immediately after with the electric rug cleaner. You will see a big difference even after doing it once. Doing a second time may bring it up to a much better state.

    Hi April. I would rent a carpet cleaner. Some grocery stores, and home improvement stores will rent them. Then purchase a pretreat stain remover, and a good cleaning solution. Spray on the pretreatment and let it sit per the directions on the bottle. Then use the carpet cleaner machine. If there are really bad stains that don't come out as nice I would repeat the process with those areas.
