This happened to me. My dishwasher guy said it was due to the removal of phosphates from detergents. You can find a product called " Bubble Bandit " online that has phosphates in it, or Finish dish washer products have some phosphate in them. It takes a while for this film to come off your dishes, but is worth the wait.
did you use a diy dishwasher pellet? hot water and citric acid.
Run them through the dishwasher again without the detergent, but adding 2 cups of white vinegar. It will remove the film and also clean the dw. You obviously have hard water! The film is a deposit of minerals in the water.
you might cleaning vinegar
Make a paste of baking soda and water . This is also very good to clean stoves , stained counters, it makes stainless steel shine. OR soak in bleach and hot water.
Maybe it is time to change your drinking glasses. Could be that you have a hardness in the water. - Us a water softener.
