How can I get rid of moth ball smells in a house?

Previous owners put moth balls in kitchen cabinets and the smell permeates the house.

    Wash out the cabinets with white vinegar,air and allow to try then place open boxes for baking soda,kitty liter,or deactivated charchol inside.

    If none of Janet's suggest work, you can seal the inside of the cabinets with shellac or shellac based primer.

    Use "Odorxit" odor exit. Available on line or at DO IT BEST hardware stores.

    It is chlorine dioxide, don't be afraid of it. We use it all the time and will kill odors of all kinds. Mixes with water, read directions. Goes in spray bottle. A couple of sprays and odor is gone for good. Good for cat urine outside also.

    Sprinkle coffee grounds on each shelf close doors and let sit for a couple of days. Great for getting rid of the most obnoxious smell.

    Hi there, fresh kitty litter should neutralize the small. Cut squares of breathable fabric and place the clean litter inside. Tie off with an elastic band and place them inside the cupboards

    Maybe they had mice, and that smell was preferable? Maybe cover surfaces with Contact?

    Have mothball smell under kitchen sink. It is horrible. Feel sick Need help. Have tried vinegar, baking soda,dish soap. Can not get rid of it.
