Hi Diana, I read a post on this very subject a few weeks ago. It said to make a solution of equal parts water and white distilled vinegar. Use a clean cloth and lightly rub this solution on the water marks. Do not rub hard. Let it dry and repeat, if necessary.
I just removed water spots from wooden surface with Old English today, my husband was amazed. You can find it in the furniture polish section, but it is also a cleaner, restains , and cleans at the same time. Use a dab or two on a clean soft rag and rub in it. They make dark or light for whatever kind of wood. I used the dark for our cherry wood.
