How do I clean my dark roaster pan (usually used for turkeys)??

I have 3 dark colored roaster pans that I cannot get clean, after years of burning grease from turkey, etc. These are the older dark roasters that have sort of white spotted color in the black color.

I use Brillo to clean my roasting pan. If yours have years of dark, burnt on oil/grease staining, it may take time to scrub those stains away. Inside corners are difficult, but possible. Don't wash in dishwasher, as the drying cycle bakes stains on. Don't forget to clean the outside as well. ✨

get some oxy clean, make a solution with hot water and leave set overnight then wash clean , rinse well. Or use 1 or 2 cups of white vinegar depending on the size of the roaster and add half cup of baking soda (get that fizz going) leave set for several hours and scrub .. good luck

If it is on the inside, you can place on heated stove top with dish soap and water and scrub with brillo like you would a regular pot with tuff burnt/stuck on items.

Try using Bon Ami it works very well on burnt on food.

If you're into being 'green' you can try using equal parts of baking soda and peroxide making a thick paste. Rub it on thickly and let it sit, the longer the better. I had a brand new pan that had gotten scorched from high heat and cooking spray. I decided to try this, after all at this point it couldn't hurt. I was very pleased with the results, and it had no harmful effects and it was something I normally had in my home! And best of all its non abrasive!

I just found this hack and tried it on my ugly old roasting pan. A wad of tin foil with a little soap on it and voila, clean as a whistle.

I just use Dawn dishwashing soap and Hot water, and let it sit overnight. You can also put it on the stove to boil. Works everytime for me.
