I've heard there's no "cure" for cat stains, other than ripping out the wood or carpet and replacing it. You can try spraying with vinegar to neutralize the order and prevent a repeat performance. Good luck!

    • Oh my goodness! Just yesterday I was at the vet and this guy came in with a 16 year old cat he wanted to put down because it was old and did its business all over the apartment. I almost jumped out of my skin! I GUARANTEE that guys wife was in tears at home. Luckily my vet wouldn't do it and I offered to take it. I know this sounds mean, but I asked the guy if his wife is going to "put him down" when he becomes old an incontinent? Hmmm? In my opinion you do not "get rid" of anything living just because it may be inconvenient. Take an animal to a no kill shelter. Sorry for the rant, but I feel very strongly about this. As to your problem, just google "pet stains" and you will find hundreds of home remedies. Me, personally, i have never found a way to stop them. Even if it is a male cat and neutered, he still might be marking his territory. On your next vet visit I would mention this as the kitty may have an illness. Good luck and keep us posted on how you and your kitty are doing!
