How do I polish a silver jewelry box?
I've seen some online posts that you can polish silver with baking soda, water and a ball of aluminum foil. I have a small silver jewelry box that is about 20 years old. It is so tarnished it's almost black. I would like to polish it, but I'm afraid the aluminum foil ball will scratch it. Does anyone know if this is safe or do you have other suggestions?

It is safe, you do not have to rub the aluminum foil on the silver, it is just there for the chemical reaction. I did this to some 100 year old flat wear and it turned out great. You will just need to do it regularly to maintain the shine.
