How do I remove glass beads glued with Hard As Nails from ceramic?

Years ago I refurbished the inside of a ceramic bird bath by gluing glass beads with Hard As Nails. Other than trying to chip away at it, how can I remove the old beads & glue so I can resurface it?

That's about all you can do - cip.it off.

  You can try acetone.

  My husband said acetone or lacquer thinner. He said it will be very difficult, made to last.
