My 4 year old grandson marks my floor with his toys etc. Also, my dog who was not house trained when I got him has also stained my hardwood floor. There are spots that are discolored.

Exilic Acid & water mix in bucket. Hard floor scrub brush. Rubber gloves. Darkened wood stained by pets or spills: Stay with the grain of wood always, brush until dark stain lightens. neutralize with lemon water. This takes muscle, patience, & eye to see grain of wood return to natural state. I did my 50 year old house wood floors stains using this method. I then stained floor & gloss refinished. (Drug store has the exilic acid)

In other words there is no easy fix. It is going to take work unless the spots are small. Cathy gave you good directions. But it is also going to have to be sanded, stained then sealed. Even if it is a few spots.

That's the acid in wood bleach Savagran makes one.
