My steam mop stinks. After I've been using it for a couple minutes, it smells like dirty feet. Is there something I can put in the water to make it smell better?

Check with the manufacturer and see if you can use vinegar. If so, it should do th etrick.

    Hi Laura,

I'd suggest starting by trying some baking soda in the water. First let it soak in the unit and make sure the pads are soaked as well. Another option is to use vinegar and water. Vinegar can sanitize your unit which will also help eliminate smells. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.

Good suggestion from Kathy, vinegar would be my go to, just verify it with the manufacturer so you won't void your warranty.

  • Depending on what floor surface you are cleaning, either vinegar or baking soda will work. Empty and air out after every use.
