How do you clean heavily tarnished brass candlesticks?

Have tried the vinegar and salt, ketchup, removed all of the wax with boiling water.

    I use Brasso. Works wonders. Better than any DIY mix.

    Try ketchup. Wipe it on leave for 1 hour and rinse off. If not all off,repeat.

    We always had great success using a product called Brasso. I don’t know if it is still available in your area, but we were always able to find it in the cleaners section of our local chain store market. If they had run out, we could always

    find it at Savon, or Rite Aid. We also used Brasso to shine doorknobs, etc, when I was in the USAF. It’s a really good product, and I hope it’s available in your area. Hope this info is helpful for you.

    Just a follow up. Bought some Brasso. Virtually all the home made concoctions worked better 🙄
