Our umbrella sat in the car all summer in Florida and now the grip is so sticky you can’t stand to use it. Tried soap no change.

I'd dry wiping it down with a vinegar solution. If you cant solve the problem you could always put a layer of tape over it (like the ones designed for racquets)

Hello there. Cindy here. I would use WD 40. It works great and would remove the stickiness off of your umbrella. This is what car dealers use to remove sticky adhesive left behind from signs and stickers. Hope this helps you. Good luck from Cindy.

Unless it was an expensive umbrella, donate it, and buy a new one. Or you can make something that slips over it snuggly.

Try Goo Gone or olive oil then clean it with soap and water. The oil should remove the sticky.

The material made to make the handle is breaking down. Probably because of the excessive heat in the car.
