My son spilled super glue on the counter top and let it sit overnight. I tried acetone, but it just barely made the top stick to the paper towel i was wiping it with.

Hello. Have you tried to scrap it off with a razor? You can keep it flat and steady so it doesn't scratch the surface.

There is debonders for super glue. You should be able to find it in the school and office supplies where the glues are or craft sections of department stores. I am sure hobby stores and home improvement stores have it also. If is a thicker glob, it may take some work for anything to work. If you can, use a razor blade to try to reduce the thickness. As with anything, try the debonders on an inconspicuous spot on your Formica counter. Good luck!

I would try goof off. If that didnt work i would put a freezer pack on it til it was as cold as I could it, then bang on it a bit with maybe the end of a butter knife or something to see if it will flake off.

Use a sharp-edged putty knife to try to get under the blob. Try more acetone around the edges, or Goo Gone, let it sit a few minutes, then gently try to unseat the super glue. If this doesn’t work, start sanding. Have you son start saving all the one dollar bills he earns or is given to buy you a new countertop, and have him do most of the sanding, if he is 8 or over. So sorry—I’ve glued my lips together more than once, trying to open the cap with my teeth. No acetone there! Just slowly biting the dried glue and skin off! 😇🍁

Oh no. Have you tried acetone yet? Maybe soak a paper towel with acetone and let it sit for a bit then try to scrape it?
