How do you remove adhesive from concrete floor?

It previously had tile and now is left with black adhesive. Adhesive is approximately 40 yrs old so is dry. I want to remove and not damage concrete underneath. Thanks

    I have removed stubborn adhesive using WD-40.

    Thats the old bulldog adhesive only good old fashion elbow grease , with a good hard scraper or you can purchase a floor scraper with long handle make sure you wear your PPE (personal , protection equipment )
