How do you remove rust from tools

I have quite a few tools needing cleaning up. Any suggestions?

Soak in Coca-Cola. Once cleaned, store in a bucket
of sand.
Scrub off any loose rust, then rub with clean motor oil.

auto shop have a product called rust cure this removes the rust with out changing the metal then rinse and oil

Have used Loctite Naval Jelly (www.loctiteproducts.com) successfully for years to "de-rust" gardening and other tools. It's a highly effective rust dissolver (contains phosphoric acid) when the specific instructions are followed exactly. Note: the product is NOT a rust preventer, so once the tools are rust-free, they should be given a light coating of household oil (I use 3 in 1) and/or stored in a bucket of sand. Hope this helps?
I once saw a post of a bucket of sand with old motor oil poured in and tools stored in the bucket handle side up.
