Have you tried WD-40? And maybe a little heat.
WD 40 will remove the sticky residue.
I want to know where you get hook and loop that stays on so well.
Assuming that you have an acrylic tub, otherwise a razor blade slid under the Velcro would cut the bond on a porcelain steel tub. I would try working on a corner with a fingernail until you get enough pulled up to grab it and yank. You could use pliers if your grip does not do the job of pulling it off. After you have removed the actual fabric the Goof-Off or less aggressive Goo-Gone should work to remove the remaining adhesive.
Hello! If all else fails, here is a variety of options. It seems as though the trick is to apply a solution, like vinegar, and let it sit for 30 minutes to sn hour. This allows your solution time to break down the adhesive. Be sure to have proper ventilation during the process.

Try using goo-gone purchased at Walmart or local store to remove the sticky left behind residue
Rubbing alcohol.
Try using your blow dryer on a warm setting and see if it loosens up the dried glue. If not, try using the softer side of an emery board to LIGHTLY sand the glue --- but stop if it looks like you are lifting the paint.
Goo Gone, you can get it at Walmart
