How to clean a tub that has been reglazed professionally?

I recommend something non-abrasive. Use what is recommended by the product manufacturer, or if they did not make any suggestions I would use Pinesol mixed with water as directed on the bottle. It is a safe gentle cleanser and it works great. Also dry out the tub after use to help it stay clean

Use clear unscented dish soap and water like you would wash fine china. Rinse and done! Years ago, Koehler recommended dish soap on all their products.

This list of what not to do is long:

1. DON'T use any abrasive cleaners on or near the refinished surface. Your new, glossy finish is easily cleaned with any mild liquid cleaner, and should be cleaned after each use. The following cleaners are approved for use: Fantastic, 409, Lysol Tub & Tile and Scrubbing Bubbles.

2. DON'T use any abrasive scrubbing pads, such as Scotch Brite or any similar scrubbing pads, as this will scratch the new surface. Use a sponge that can be used on Teflon.

3. DON'T drop sharp or heavy objects on the finish.

4. Faucets must be properly maintained by owner and user, to protect the new surface. Leaky faucets will erode the new finish, causing it to crack and wear out prematurely.

5. Destruction of the finish may occur through improper use of acid bearing compounds, such as drain openers or tile and grout cleaners. All chemicals must be kept away from the finish. These chemicals include, but are not limited to, cosmetics, hair dyes, and perfumes, which may stain and mar the finish. Introduction of any of these chemicals onto the finish would be

considered neglect and possibly void any guarantee.

6. DON'T use a rubber mat or anything else with suction cups. Most mats will produce a reaction with the new surface when subjected to hot water.

7. DON'T use Soft Scrub, Comet, Ajax, or SOS Pads. NO ABRASIVES AT ALL! Abrasives are damaging to all surfaces. The new surface will clean easily with any of the cleaners indicated above and a soft sponge.

8. DON'T pick surface dust off with your finger. Any surface dust will likely dissipate in 3-4 weeks with normal cleaning and usage. Waxing also helps with Meguilar's show wax for cars.

9. DON'T let workers stand in a reglazed tub with their shoes on. Have them remove shoes and put a soft towel down.

10. DON'T leave any bottles, spray cans, wet cloths or bar soap on the surface for more than 24 hours. (Rust from shaving cans will damage the surface.)

11. DON'T wash any pets in tub or sink.

12. DON'T expose surface to extreme heat. Keep hot objects away from refinished item.

13. DON'T drag or drop any objects on the finish, which may cause it to chip, scrape or mar the finish.

14. DON'T use refinished surface to clean brushes or any painting related chemicals or materials. Keep harsh chemicals away from surface. Don't clean or store sharp or abrasive items on surface.

The list of what to do is short:

1. DO use liquid soap or body washes as they rinse away easily with water and help prevent soap residue.

2. DO maintain caulking. Caulking/ and or grouting is not warranted.

3. DO make sure the room is well ventilated.

4. DO make sure there are no holes or gaps in any grout or caulking in your shower. This will lead to wall damage and a costly repair.

5. DO keep surface clean and free of wetness for extended periods.

6. DO repair any chips IMMEDIATELY. Chips are man made and will result in water getting under the finish that can eventually peel. This will not be covered under the warranty if not repaired immediately.

7. DO wax your refinished surface two weeks after it is done and once every 1-3 months thereafter. Use regular auto wax and DO NOT OVER BUFF. Start by thoroughly cleaning the surface then gently wiping dry. Then apply a light thin coat of wax with a damp cloth using a circular motion. Wipe excess wax with a soft dry cotton towel.
