How to clean baked on grease off baking sheets?

    Baking soda is very abrasive. Sprinkle it on and then get it wet so that you have a paste. Ight will take some scrubbing, but it will come of eventually. Or, you can get some of those new cleaners that are out on the web, that, according to their ads, literally melt that stuff away. Me, I'd get new baking sheets!

    Hi Barb, the way I've cleaned really crusty baking sheets is to pour about a cup of ammonia and a cup of water into a large heavy duty plastic garbage bag. Add your baking sheets and even oven racks if they need a deep clean. Close the bag and tie it off well and set outside or in your garage for 8-12 hours, then rinse well with a hose. They'll come out great. Be very careful so as not to breathe the fumes from the ammonia and protect your hands as well. It is very potent stuff.
