I use Dollar Tree Awesome Degreaser and the Awesome Orange in the 1/2 gal. I add the Awesome Orange to hot water and use a car sponge, and when you hit the stubborn bits, I spray with the degreaser and use a round plastic scrubby. I wear kitchen rubber gloves as its a bit hard on the hands. I use this for all my clients homes.
I love 409 multi surface spray cleaner. You could also try dawn dish soap with hot water. I have seen kitchens where they put the stove in a corner up against a side wall or there is a little strip of counter top then the side wall. If this is your dilemma, Maybe try covering the side wall with a pretty cutting board or as they do in the Chinese restaurant t ape some aluminum foil up there and replace when dirty. Good luck cleaning it first. Fyi- in my experience, the magic eraser removes wall stains but takes off some paint too, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Follow instructions from previous responders and clean your stove area more often.
Try TSP (Tri-Sodium-Phosphate. with hot water. It always worked for me when I was painting.
