How to clean rusted metal.

I have a western style 5 foot clock made from metal. The metal has rusted in spots especially the metal on the floor. How to get it back to new looking again.

I use Naval Jelly, a scraper and steel wool. Get it at hardware store like True Value, wear kitchen gloves when using.
Use vinegar.
Use a large eraser. It will remove the rust
