Have you tried toilet bowl cleaner to clean it? It works wonders on rust stains. Open the window or wear a mask. Don't get on your skin.

My textured plastic one was stained. I made a paste of bleach-based (VERY IMPORTANT in order to avoid mixing different chemicals) Comet or Ajax and liquid bleach and scrubbed. I rinsed, and repeated leaving it overnight, and it came clean. I do that once a month now, and only leave it on for about 10 minutes. What is yours made of?

C L R - It makes your tub look amazing. My tubs were reglazed a few years back and they started peeling and looked hideous. I took CLR to 'em along with magic erasers and they look new.

Do not suggest painting them yourself. Have never heard of good long term results, immediate results yes, but with time and use you may end up with a worst ugly mess. You've had some good suggestions which I would try. Make sure you follow b. enne's advice about not mixing bleach or bleached based products with other non bleach products - dangerous toxic fumes will result.

Try baking soda and lemon juice. Make paste and use sturdy brush. Also I use alcohol to clean my tile walls. Removes grim. Once a year I apply Turtle Wax to all tile walls, sinks and fixtures. No spots, RainEx is also good for mirrors.
  • I made a paste of baking soda and vinegar ~ scrubbed, let sit and rinsed the next day. Did this twice and it worked wonders ~ a white floor in my shower. Years ago all I had to use was Comet but they must have changed the formula because it does not work anymore.

I painted my fiberglass shower pan and it lasted pretty well for several years until we could replace it. The hardware store people can tell you what to buy.
