My hubby sprays them with WD-40 then cleans them off. He sometimes uses fine sandpaper on the blades of things to get rid of rust.

WD-40 will remove light rust and if reapplied a couple times a year will keep rust away. Nancy is right!

Yep, WD40 and a green kitchen scrubby will clean the rust off. when your not using the tools lightly spray them with WD40. Puts a coating on that repels moisture and prevents rusting.

To remove rust from tools, combine salt and lemon juice in a container. Rub this solution using steel wool or a scourging pad. The salt acts as an abrasive while the acid in the lemon juice cuts thru the corrosion. If the rust is really bad, let the solution set for 10 or 15 minutes before removing it. Also, if you put your tools in a bucket of sand, they will never rust again. Good luck.
