I had good results using baking soda & hydrogen peroxide. I sprinkled a good covering of baking soda over the stain then slowly worked hydrogen peroxide in with my fingers (wear gloves). Let it dry completely and vacuum. This worked so well it left a clean spot and I had to do the entire room, lol. -

I have a small spray bottle with white vinegar in it. I spray the spots immediately, then rub briskly with a rag or paper towel.
