The toilet in my house have some nasty mineral deposits. I've tried bleach, specific toilet bowl cleaners and nothing seems to work.

  • @Ruth Zamora ...I have been a Professional Housekeeper...I always used straight white vinegar, empty the bowl of as much water as possible. Pour the vinegar in and LET SIT for as long as possible- I would recommend 8 to 10 hours , if thats something you can do. Then scrub with a non scratch toilet brush or something similar. If you cant let it soak for that long ( like overnight) you can still use this method, several times over if necessary. If you still have a few stains, a pumice stone will work ( there is one made just for toilets ) but be sure to wear rubber gloves and have as much water in the toilet bowl as possible when using the pumice stone. Hope this helps.

White vinegar and blue dawn detergent. Let it sit overnight clean in the morning,

I just go to the dollar tree and buy Lime away for toilets. I squeeze some in the toilet before going to bed. The next morning I flush it and there you go. Looks brand new and you only spent 1.00.

I keep reading the amazing cleaning benefits of a bottle of coke, overnight ! Supposed to clean pennies back to brand new ! Worth a try ? Good luck .

Google Pumie. Hubs bought ours at Lowes but Walmart is listed on Google search for $4.47. Works freaking amazing!!! Had horrible iron stains under lip of toilet bowl-GONE. Had buildup of something stuck to bowl @ water level (calcium?)-GONE. After seeing the results on all 3 toilets in our house (and using less than one stick total) I bought 3 more sticks, one for each bathroom. It's been several months since first time use & they are just now needing another scouring. Good luck!

My ex was a plumber, whenever we moved into a new rental he would pour muriatic acid and put a thick layer of newspaper over the bowl and close the lid for a hour or so. We lived in some pretty "interesting" places so the entire place was always scrubbed from top to bottom. This is a desperate move though, the acid is very caustic.

I have a question, wouldn't a pumice stone scratch the toilet?

Muratic acid. The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner has muratic acid in it, we let it set for several hours when the blue is gone we scrub it and and even use small brushes to get into everything. If it isn't all gone with pour more in there. We use small automotive brushes to get under the rims and in the holes. We can get them clean.

My dad has really hard water...so hard Culligan's isn't enough. I clean his house weekly and pour Iron Out onto the surface. Wait 10 min and then scrub as I normally would. Turns out great.
